Salman Khan: Let's use video to reinvent education

Charla brillante sobre una web increible. De entre los comentarios en youtube he recatado la siguiente reflexión, que sin quitarle grandeza al proyecto invita a ir un poco más allá:

@animamor Right, there should be thousands of Khan Academies, created by all of the worlds greatest tutors. Each teacher has their own style, some videos on Khan Academy would work better if done by a different teacher. But the delivery, students being able to study at their own pace until they fully grasp a concept, is pretty radical.

I get skeptical when anybody says "a global, one-world" anything ("classroom" in this case--16:14), especially when it's about education. This model is a good tool for individual teachers, not for education at large, and only if teachers created videos for their own students. One video by one person or organization on any subject, esp. history/govt/econ, for many students is a bad idea. They may get the info to be able to pass some standardized test, but there has to be more to learning, right?
